Eric is at the meeting point between IT and the Arts!
Having worked for Hewlett Packard for 13 years, he was first an engineer, then progressed to trainer, manager and, latterly, consultant for the Asia Pacific region. He gave this up in order to pursue his passion for playing and teaching the classical guitar.
Eric has been playing since the age of 14, progressing through the grades (AB) and continuing to enjoy playing throughout his career in IT, incorporating some private teaching. In 2009 he made the decision to teach full-time and in 2016 he started Poco Music Studio LLP and has since established a large and flourishing practice. He has continued to study and has gained both teaching and performing qualifications, but is ever eager to learn more. Eric is the first Singaporean to hold a FLCM in Classical Guitar Performance.
Eric has taught and solely produced the largest numbers of LCME Grade 8 Classical Guitar students and LCME Diploma students in Singapore. He is also a Principal Study Lecturer with Singapore Raffles Music College, in Classical Guitar, teaching the Diploma, Bachelor and Master of Music program awarded by London College of Music, University of West London.
Eric is an Exam Centre Representative for London College of Music Examinations (LCME) in Singapore and his center, Poco Music Studio LLP, is an accredited examination center for London College of Music Examinations.
Eric has a wife, Helen, and 3 adult children and, in his spare time, enjoys maintaining his aquarium and avian hobbies. He has acquired a Veterinary Clinical Science Diploma through CET program from Ngee Ann Polytechnic on May 2022. Though he has been driving for almost 30 years, he has recently learnt how to ride a motorcycle and has passed his Singapore Class 2B license on April 2023.
