Theory of Music
We focus mainly on the syllabus that leads to the London College of Music Examinations (LCME) from University of West London Examinations or Trinity College London. The LCME/Trinity in Theory of Music is accredited by Ofqual, which serves as a UK governmental stamp of approval and quality assurance, confirming parity of standards with other similar awarding bodies.
The LCME/Trinity is also accredited by the corresponding authority in Wales (DfES). They have been placed on the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) at Levels 1, 2 and 3.
Our theory of music syllabus aims to fully align with the LCME/Trinity from Grade 1 to Grade 8. Students can take the LCME/Trinity if they wish to and usually the aim of the syllabus is to provide a well defined path for students who wish to progress from Grade 1 to Grade 8 in the LCME/Trinity. For those who do not intend to take an examination, the syllabus also provide a structured and comprehensive path for the learning of music theory.
